Lyric I Prefer The Twentieth Century
I m not typically one to rush to judgement
But I m having difficulty dealing with adjustment
I suppose that I ll get used to it eventually
But so far I prefer the twentieth century
Even when the evenings aren t so shitty
I can t see any stars because I m too close to the city
True, I m looking forward to the advent of space tourism
But for now I m merely bored
And as a matter of fact, who isn t?
I know the picture that I paint is none too pretty
Self-portrait, up to elbows in self-pity
But I m having difficulty dealing with adjustment
I suppose that I ll get used to it eventually
But so far I prefer the twentieth century
Even when the evenings aren t so shitty
I can t see any stars because I m too close to the city
True, I m looking forward to the advent of space tourism
But for now I m merely bored
And as a matter of fact, who isn t?
I know the picture that I paint is none too pretty
Self-portrait, up to elbows in self-pity
